I Can, Too!

Aunt Helen, Sigrid made this skirt and wore it to school this morn.  She is making one with orange poke a dots next!  You can see her Grandmother on the wall in the background.  Saying, "Yes, you can, Sigrid, love, Grandma Gertrude!"

Hoe, Hoe, Hoe!

 Yesterday, I hoe, hoe, hoed.  Above is the Texas Navy soup beans.  Below three squash plants.  My potatoes were covered with those bugs and I sprayed them with seven.  My lettuce is rotting but I enjoyed what we got from it.  I was going to spray the cabbage today but we are getting a lot of rain.

While I hoed all day, Larry mowed all day.  We were both glad to get it done before all this rain came.

This is my Kentucky Wonder Pole beans.  I hoed them out yesterday.  I am wondering what I can stake them with.  Pole green beans will make for much longer than the bush type and even taste better.

 I only have one sweet potato alive.  I called and they are sending more I am more than a little discouraged.  You can see my tomatoes.  Soon, we will put up the fence pieces to stake them.  You can't see but most of the end row has died.  I think it was the weird weather.  I will get some to replace them. I have about 6 dead. I want to buy Roma plants.  Several of my peppers died too.  I am a novice gardener, but I hope I get smarter and better.

 Larry's corn and pea patch are both growing.   If you can get corn up almost knee high...a few weeds do not hinder the production of corn.  Hope we continue to get a little rain off and on.

 Larry's watermelons and cantaloupes are not up, but will be soon.

This is the only rose I have.  It does have buds.  Larry built me a bed around it.  I planted Cannas on the other side of the tree.

Astrid Shopping

Astrid is shopping for next year's soccer gear.  She is going to several basketball camps this summer.

Erin got a new camera.  The pictures are very clear.  I think it is a canon 60d.

Sink Holes Moving Toward Patsy's House

Patsy, you were talking about the sink holes...well, they are moving your way...this one was in Benton County.  Here is the story.
A sinkhole large enough to drive a car into discovered in Benton County just East of Pea Ridge.
Road crews believe the recent flooding is to blame.
Coming in at more than eight feet deep, it was one of the largest sink holes these crews have ever repaired.

Blue Bells

These are called Blue Bells I think.  I planted Cone flowers in this bed where you can see the potting soil.  I sure hope they come up.  I have Four O'clocks coming up from those I planted last year.  But Fleta was right they are not very pretty flowers.

Down Pour

We finally got a down pour today.  Everything got a big drink.

Little Sprinkle

 It sprinkled here last night and is again this morn.  Astrid came over Sunday and rode the 4 wheeler. Ingrid rode behind.  Larry tells them ever little bit--better let it rest awhile it might be getting hot.  Then they sit on the porch with him and visit.

 Patsy asked about my roses.  This is it.  It does have buds and I mulched it.  Hope roses like being mulched.  I don't have good luck with roses but we will see.  If this one does well, I might get another.

 Astrid did a report of this scientist.  He is interesting and I bet her report will be good.  Siggie mulched her flower bed.

 Pop plowing and Ingrid inspects my wagon.  She thinks it will haul Clayton and Greta easily!

The Graduate

 Clayton graduated from pre-school!  Next year he will attend kindergarten!
