Bluebirds like a fence row so they can watch for a bug in the open grass from their front door.
Finches like a camo house in the vines
Sparrows are not choosy.
Some birds might want a house with a crooked roof or one hanging free.
Some prefer an apartment life.
Or two stories.
Pop built houses for Clayton and Greta and hope some birdy builds in them.

Dog Days
Siggie got little Ju last spring for her birthday. She surely loves her.
Ju went to Dr. Davis' hospital at Dardanelle, AR and had a little surgery. Ju had to stay overnight. Sigrid was really worried about her over there all night. Laura let her call the Dr. to check on her. Ju is home now and recovering!
Sky went the on April 18 also. Eric said -- we are never getting anymore dogs. They have 3 female dogs--Fergie, Sky and Ju. Now, the dogs are "fixed" so to speak.

Flowers Blooming
Ingrid is in the pink! Laura took this last night at the Dance banquet.
Above is Ingrid and Claire at the Honor's Society induction and below Ingrid with RJHS banners.
Claire is going on the New York trip with Ingrid the first of June. I know they will have a great time.
These are of Ingrid running in the 800 relay!

Brown Bovan's Laying
Ok, another old saying---"if you thank someone who gives you eggs, their hens will stop laying". So Amy Patsy, don't send any thank you notes!
Garden Tour--not much growing yet!
I give out hoeing--quickly, too! I can never be a tobacco or cotton farmer! I love my new old tiller. I can till near the plants and then it is easy to hoe in between them. I have to go down each row twice to get all the grass out neatly, but when the plants mature one swipe will do it. I am so proud of Larry for fixing my tiller. I was ready to spend two thousand on a new one and it fixed it with a new motor. It started great yesterday and did not die one time!
Laura and Sigrid came and helped me plant Contender green beans and improved pintos. Look at the wreath Laura created for her door. It has a burlap material in it if you can't see it. I love it.
Do you think my thieving neighbors are nibbling on my cabbage?

Rat Pack Falls
Astrid picked an area of Haw Creek to hike today. Sigrid and Mom tagged along. Moss, wild flowers and waterfalls were the pluses of the trek.
Two Keepers
When Siggie went to 5th grade camp, she caught a catfish. It is big enough to be a keeper. Sigrid is a keeper too!
Siggie bought material and made a cover for the comforter on her bed. The comforter may be called a duvet? She tied dyed the material and then she and her mother sewed it into a big pillow case like cover and the comforter slips into the case. I love the mixture of pink, orange, yellow! Movin' Up
Ingrid's group (4 X 800) got second in the track meet yesterday at Conway. She had her team in first as she finished her two laps. This time they ended in second place. Go, Whirlwinds!
My pea thievin' neighbors came by to see what was planted in the garden.
One of these is a buck as he is larger! He can probably eat all my plants in 15 minutes.

We Wear A Mask
“She had blue skin,
And so did he.
He kept it hid
And so did she.
They searched for blue
Their whole life through,
Then passed right by-
And never knew.”
― Shel Silverstein, Every Thing on It

Their whole life through,
Then passed right by-
And never knew.”

My Walking Patner
This is Al. We walk together at Bona Dea Trail.
He usually swims around while I trudge along the way.
Sometimes he sleeps but often he opens at least one eye and looks my way.
I would just as soon he not come ashore!
