Larry said this is a caterpillar. It is huge. I got this little measure stick out of my sewing machine so you could see how big it was. I had never noticed what the ruler said until today. I don't remember where I got it but probably have had it since I went to School of the Ozarks in 1968. Momma bought be a singer sewing machine in a case to take to college with me. I made my own clothes. Mostly with no patterns because I did not have enough money to buy patterns.

My husband, my resident bug man, says it's a cecropia caterpillar, one of the silkworms, he'll be a moth when he grows up..
Yes, and I moved him to safety and will let him grow up.
