Vinegar Pudding and Oatmeal Pie

Ingrid went to Fayetteville with her friend, Avery.   They saw Rent which is a rock musical.    Ingrid got to visit a used book store on Dickson Street.  She said the place was fabulous.  Rooms and rooms of books.
Laura made oatmeal pie and shared a pieced with Pop and Gigi.  It is sort of like pecan.  Well, not that good but if you did not have pecans and were craving that nut pie it would be a substitute for sure.  Momma used to made vinegar pudding when she had no vanilla.  It was between a cheesecake taste and vanilla.  I recall it being delicious, but we were always so hungry maybe today it would just taste weird.  I worked at a restaurant near Branson in 1966 or 67 that served oatmeal pie.  It was a hit there I remember.  Someday, I would like to go down hiway 76 where I worked and see what it looks like today.  I have not actually been back in 50 years.  I have drove through but not really looked at the area.
Clayton and Greta went yesterday to a nursing home and sang Christian songs.  A group was to go, but only Erin's two made the trip.  Of course, the big boy was shy about singing since it was only he and his sister.  One old Lady (Dorothy Middleton) told him to sing loud as she could not hear him.  After they finished their song, Dorthy sang this to Clayton.  She belted out "Penny Candy" which Jim Reeves made popular the year Sister Helen was born.  Clayton was totally embarrassed but it surely was a sweet gesture by the woman.

There's a little girl lives on our street
She's awful sweet and pretty
The boys stand on their heads for her
But she thinks they're all silly

Erin's devotional today was about being lukewarm and how our Lord hates that!  Can you imagine your coffee in the morning barely warm or you iced tea turn warm.  Not very appetizing or appealing!  I am heated up for my Savior today and cold to the devil!
