New Test
News today says if one can’t detect the odor of peanut butter with your left nostril, it may indicate Alzheimer’s disease. Place a ruler between jar and nostril. The team found that the odor detection distance of AD patients’ left nostril (5.1cm), and not their right (17.4cm), was much less than the other groups. 5 cm is about 2 inches. 17.4 is almost 6 inches. The difference in the two is the key. The disease affects portions of the olfactory cortex. The initial sites of AD pathology and patients with AD often have more degeneration of their left than the right hemisphere. Very interesting….
