Where Riding Is Legal

Logan's Dad works with apache  Indians and where he lives you can ride ATVs on the street!  Astrid sent this to Laura and Red about had a cow but Astrid said it was all legal there.  Hope they have a great time.  I know they are going somewhere on a hike and Astrid will love that. I know they are 3 hours from Phoenix.

 Sigrid's swim team, The Sharks, had a big party this week.  Sigrid starts to school Monday.

Momma the Seamstress

 Momma made these tops with no pattern.  Helen's looks better than mine I believe. Seems like she made skirts with them.  The back of my picture says I am 14 so Helen was 10.  I think Mom sewed a lot of this by hand.  She loved us and wanted for us to have pretty clothes.  I hope we were proud of these.  She likely ordered the fabric from National Bella Hess.  The year is 1964!

Last Time for Swimming?

Clayton and Greta came home to Arkansas heat so their Momma took them swimming!  Probably won't get to go many more times!

Where is the Pond?

 More signals of fall.  The geese are flying south!  They always stop over and rest at our small pond behind the house, but this year it was gone!  You could tell they were confused.  They squawked and walked all over the Meadow, but no pond was found.  Finally, they departed.  I know in wonderment.  How could a pond just disappear?   Things happen like that! 

Clayton and Greta are home again.  Laura starts to school Monday as does Eric.  Eric has a new Principal.  They will have to train.  Teachers have to train a new boss!  It works that way.

Siggie and Ingie got their schedules.  Ingie's is difficult.  Sig chose the high road.  She is library monitor!  Did she know her Gigi did that once?  No, I am sure she did not!  Siggie is a smart girl.  She will work but also knows when one needs a rest.  Why take another class when you can hang out in the library!

Dreams Of My Grandpa

Larry has been hankering to move this tractor shed.  He had put it in a place that was pretty low and it stayed wet until June.  Also, where it is low there are lots of grass and weeds.  Larry said he remembers his Grandpa moving a freestanding garage from where the Nuclear Plant is today all the way to London, AR which I guess would be about 5 miles.  Grandpa rigged the boards across the bed of his pickup truck and one across the front bumper.  His truck was inside the garage with the boards holding it to the truck.  Uncle Walter drove in front--swearing, "Daddy, this will never work!" and Larry followed behind--"thinking I bet it works!" And it did.  Grandpa got the garage to London and parked it where he wanted it by his little white house.

So Larry has been remembering how Grandpa Renfroe moved that garage and today he did the same with his tractor shed.  He is moving it to higher ground.  Laura and Erin will both be saying "yes, my Daddy can do anything"!   And...I think I agree.
