Sigrid has been painting. Reminds me of my butterfly I spotted on the Cone Flower.
She is pressing flowers too. I can’t wait to see them. No peeking for a week she said.

Wish I had some Sassy Tea
Found this old information about Sassafras. I recall Mom making it for us to drink in the spring. It was supposed to "clean our blood". It was good too. I recall chewing the leaves and they had a minty taste.
I think I am existing some better. I am able to sleep most of the night. I have had several "bad" problems in addition to losing my love. I have had to find a electrician, plumber, mechanic, meadow mower, yard mower, and I am slowly getting all these spots filled...before Larry did all these things. It is just overwhelming, but I am making progress and finally I will be able to see daylight.
I am thankful for my two daughters. So glad one child lives next door. I have two sisters to encourage me daily and some good friends, especially my old friend Jonell. Also, I have my cousin, Virginia, who has lived through what I am feeling. It all helps so much. I have support and I will get back to being the "old" me. I like to sit around and read. I feel guilty about just sitting around. I am 70, and not as energetic as I once was. On top of all this is the dreaded death that looms near always. It is like an oppressive blanket smothering us all. Will be go glad when it subsides. Where I live the cases continue to climb up, up, up!

Lunch with Astrid
These two pictures I snapped while walking this morning. It is a lovely State park. Starting out it’s pretty cool but by finish I’m dying.
Astrid and I went to lunch at tropical smoothie. It was ok, but the company was excellent.
Greta took this selfie of herself. I love it. I can see her hearing aides. Her braces are off. They were to fix her bite. Later she’ll have to wear them again.
Living in a meadow has draw backs. Fleta came and stayed two nights with me. I doubt she returns. Dead mouse in the bedroom she slept in. I was able to find it and dispose of it later, but I know it was unpleasant.

Sisters ❤️❤️
For there is no friend like a sister
In calm or stormy weather;
To cheer one on the tedious way,
To fetch one if one goes astray,
To lift one if one totters down,
To strengthen whilst one stands

Anniversaries of Goodbyes
My days seem to be marked with anniversaries of goodbyes. Dear Brother left us 6 years ago.
Lean on me, I am your brother!
Faded cut-offs and a white t-shirt
Old ball cap and his coffee cup
Guess he didn't look like much,
But he's the one you really trust.
But he's the one you really trust.
You could lean on him!
Car broke down, you call home
You know the number, same ol' one
Feel a lot better when you hear "hello"
'Cause the answer is always--"I'll come".
You could lean on him!
Even way back when you were young
"Dad, cows are up, milkings done"
Drove the yellow school bus, just a kid
Parked on the hill when the battery was dead.
You could lean on him!
Dad was gone, and Mom all alone
Needed someone to really count on
Moved his stuff in that old back room
Took her orders like a child, tho' grown.
You could lean on him!
No, he wasn't perfect, did some wrong
But one thing you knew you could count on
If the chips were down and your money gone
You knew the number, you could call home.
You could lean on him!

Meadow Mowed
A deputy sheriff here mowed Galla Meadow today. Soon round bales will dot the field. It’s feels good to have him as a friend. He said to use his name whenever I needed and I have his cell number if I need help. I have had a few scary things happen since Pop left. One was an old man that was eating lunch in my yard and wouldn’t leave. The other was the theft of my purse. Hopefully, all that is behind me.
Dean’s List
Astrid made the Dean’s lust at ATU. When school starts back, she will be in the Nursing program ATU And will be a junior.
