Harrison Today

Went to Harrison today to watch Ada.  Marge had a Dr. appointment.  It was easy.  Ada never cries. She just smiles.  She slept about 3 hours in the afternoon.  I sat in her room and read.

Greta always helps.  I gave her a little tip.  She has a new bike and can really go fast on it.  Clayton went with his Dad to the store.
Fleta will have second cataract surgery next Wednesday.  This one is doing fine.

Asa mandated masks and many are upset.  We have to wear shoes in stores.  I am proud he was brave enough to take a stand.  I have been wearing my mask, but lots don’t.  Larry’s brother has the virus.  He works at a plant.  He isn’t sick, but will stay home 2 weeks.  I will be so glad when we have some good news.

I read Mary Trumps’ book.  I read it in one day.  There is no way to explain how horrible a person our  leader is.  The book goes into none of his sexual ordeals; it’s about psychology.  If you like him, I’d say don’t read it, all those folks on FB who think he wonderful won’t believe it anyway.

I hope your day has been good and hope omorrow is even better.

If You’re Guilty

Ada said, “Momma, Greta made this mess” as she smiled sweetly.

Painting

Ingrid is moving upstairs.  She’ll be living at home and going to ATU.  She is redoing an upstairs room and getting new furniture.   The set is sort of like this but is a full bed and gray colored.  Knobs are different so not boyish looking.  She wanted lots of shelves.  The suit has a desk with more shelves. The upstairs will provide more privacy for her.  She received news today that she passed 4 classes to receive college credit.  One I know was biology.  She will not have to take it in College, already credited.  I am proud of her success.

Astrid made an A in her on line summer class.  Yippee.  She will be in the nursing program this fall.

Surgery for Sister

Fleta had cataract surgery today.  Still has patch on eye.  Hoping for good results.

Flying Flower

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.

New Pictures

Erin ordered new pictures.  I am hoping for copies.  Ada loves her new picture.

What’s Going On

Laura’s friend has potted a Covid Bush for me.  I’ll have my own virus soon.

I got a haircut today.  Rhonda is really tired of all the fuss and may just quit.  She took my temp.  She has to wear a mask when we are face to face.  I had her cut my hair really short.  Great for hot weather.  94 right now.
This is Astrid’s canna.  It’s stunning.
Astrid made a new door hanger.  She is talented.

Roll Over in Boone County

Oops.

Pressed Flowers

Sigrid peaked at some of her dried flowers.  The smaller ones look great, the bigger will need to be smooshed longer.  My Sister, her Aunt Helen, gifted her a cigar box and she is going to decoupage some on the top.

Baby is an Old Man

My baby brother is an old man and that makes me ancient.   He was never a bother.  Here Fleta and I tried to make him a tire swing on the old cherry tree.  Guess this was the best we could do.  All his big sisters bossed  him around.  He still does whatever we say.  Happy Birthday, baby brother.

Dora? No, Greta the Explorer❤️❤️

With FIVE wonderful Grand girls, I notice their similarities but also their differences.  This is Greta Ann my own “Dora the Explorer”.  Every evening she begs Erin to take her metal detecting.  She has graduated to a pretty fine instrument.   She has a big box of coins she has found and yesterday she dug up this pretty ring.  I keep hoping she’ll uncover something big enough to keep her hooked for life.  Nothing greater than the “great outdoors.”

Ingrid’s Achievement

Ingrid was in the paper yesterday—highest honors.    She was planning on going to the U of A and was accepted to the prestigious Governor’s School.  Last week she decided to stay here and go to ATU.  There were so many rules.  Mainly she would have been confined to a small room.  One class a week was face to face and the rest on line.  She had a meal ticket, but had to eat at her allotted times.  Hers were back to back.  I guess eat breakfast and then lunch.  By staying at home, she will have more freedom to come and go.  The ATU classes will probably be mostly online too, but at least she will be able to eat at times she wants to and can do some other things she enjoys.  This C virus has ruined many of her plans and she has had to rethink all her dreams.  She really had little celebration of those 4 years she toiled to earn high honors.  She already has almost a year of college credit and has not even begin.  I praying the Lord will bless her this year with some new friends and enjoyable studies.
