Will Helen Lie in Glenwood?

Ira Gurley was born in Green Forest and he is buried at Glenwood. Helen was born in Green Forest in 1922. Will she lie beside him? I always wondered if this was the Ira that Grandpa was jealous of? I think Fleta and I figured out maybe not. But in Grandpa Powell's early letters to Grandma he asked if she went to the 'show' with Ira. You could tell Grandpa was jealous. Grandma Powell was a beautiful woman when she was old...think how gorgeous she was in 1911. She and Ira Gurley were the same age.

Siggie Is On a Visit

Siggie is staying 2 nights with Clayton and Greta. I hope Greta does not get hurt. She does whatever Clayton does. She says Clayton and it sounds so sweet.

I am starting to pick my apples. I cooked a big pot and Laura cooked one. Laura made her Dad some fried pies.

My blood is thin enough as of this morning...2.4. So now I must hold it there.

I zoomed in and took this picture of one of my hummingbirds. I think it was Fleta who told me that they can not walk. Their bodies are too heavy for the legs to carry them.

I am starting college again. First class start will be in a week or so. This class is on line--Advanced Arkansas History. I hope it is interesting as that is why I signed up for it. At first, the class was full but they made room for me.

School Rules

When Laura and Eric went to Minneapolis to see Grandpa Howard, the girls got to school shop. I paid for a few of their things but not nearly all these clothes. They got things for fall and winter not for the start of school. Siggie has a bunch of clothes Erin got for her and also a bunch the girls pass down. So she did not need as many things to wear. Plus she really does not care a lot about it. They have a new puppy and that is more her speed. Ingie and Siggie had lights set up for the style show and we had coffee and cookies. Pop asked Ingie why she had the black bra over her top...we told him that was a mustache not a bra. Siggie got a teddy bear because she got shorted on clothes.

We enjoyed see what they will wear to school this year. You don't have to look at all of them but I am sure you will want to. Astrid is 12 and already 5'5" tall. She wears a 9 to 10 shoe. Ingie is tall for her age but not in Astrid's range and her foot is smaller. Siggie is slim to the point of being skinny. They are special girls and I love them all three. I am not taking credit for all these clothes...just a couple of outfits each.

Fall Garden

Planted 3 rows of Big Boy peas, then 3 rows of improved Pintos, then 3 rows of Crop Top Green beans. Then two rows of purple top turnips and mustard, and the last row is squash, cucumbers and some radishes and lettuce. Now come on rain.

Dr. Today

Go today to the Dr. Already had blood drawn. Still anemic, but better. I had an ultrasound. The vein is surface not deep vein, but there are clots so I am on blood thinner and after this clears up. Maybe I can tackle the anemia again. Still taking iron. Erin came and show Larry how to give the shots. He is almost a vet anyway so it was easy. I go back Friday.
