May 16, 1937 my parents eloped.  He was 21 and she 16.  It all worked out.  

 

Laura’s Gift

Laura’s Mother’s Day gift ♥️

Laura’s Dad fixed a swing for her long ago.  He set a cedar post on one side and the other he fixed to a pine tree.  After Laura’s Dad passed away, the pine died, too. Astrid redid the swing by putting one side on the old post and setting a new post where the tree was.  She dug the hole and did all this by herself.  Then she sanded the swing and bought new chains.   Astrid is her pop’s granddaughter.  Just like Larry she lives by the motto—I can!

 

Logan and Astrid’s Big Day

Since Logan and Astrid married deep in the National Forest, they wanted to hold a celebration for all their family and friends.  Saturday, was the big occasion.  They chose Galla Meadow as their venue and Pop’s pond as background.  We fretted during the week as everyday it rained and some days it poured.  

The Lord was just preparing his decorations for the great day—daisies every where with Spiderwort and Heal-all lining Galla Lane.  He had the honeysuckle and the privet blooming. The aroma filled the air.  Logan’s dad Spence Roberts came from Missouri with his food truck.  He baked homemade pizza’s.  Spence’s mom Joyce told me the oak wood cooks the pizza at 900 degrees.  Momma Laura created the wedding cake and groom’s pie—cinnamon rolls three tiers and apple pies with hearts on top.  Joyce Roberts brought a delicious salad and Spence provided his famous dressing.

Several games were setup to play and the little stream flowing down Crow Mountain was a hit with the young boys.  Logan and Astrid love kick ball.  The day ended with a big kick ball game!  I did not join in as I don’t  run anymore, well, except my mouth!

Astrid and Logan fell in love in high school.  She was his senior prom date and he was hers.  Pop loved Logan.  At first meeting he told me, “I like this one.  He doesn’t care if he gets his shoes dirty.”  He knew Logan would be a hard worker and good provider.  

My wish for Logan and Astrid is a wonderful life filled everlasting love for each other.  🤍

The Robert’s Big Celebration

Logan and Astrid had their big wedding celebration !  Logan’s father brought his wood fired pizza food truck and cooked pizza.  He also made a wonderful salad with his famous homemade ranch dressing. They planned this for friends and family since they got married deep in the National Forest.

Coral Honeysuckle

When I walked I spied this Scissortail.  He is really camouflaged nect to the rocks.  Not all Honeysuckle is white.  Coral Honeysuckle is really pretty.

 

Sigrid’s Next Step

Sigrid’s last day of high school is here.  Lots of days have sped by since kindergarten at Sequoyah Elementary.  She rode the school bus to my school at the end of the day.  First day, I went out and met her bus. Her shoes were untied and she was walking on the shoe strings.  I said, “Sig, your shoes are untied”.  She said, “l can tie them. They’re more comfortable like this!” Where did the time go?

 

Bubbles

What are bubbles filled with?  Fun!  Ada is almost finished with a year of pre-school.  This summer she’ll stay at home with Clayton and Greta.  Next month Clayton will be 15 and Greta is 12.  I hope they have a great summer.  Meme lives next door too.  

 

Ingrid’s New Place

Ingrid is settling into her new home.  I like her couch.  Her apt number is 1!  She said the door had double dead bolts!

 

Honest Sigrid

 

Eric and Laura attended Celebration of Excellence last evening for Sig.  It lasts a couple of hours and Laura said I did not have to go so I did not.  Sigrid received several medals one was for taking 8 AP (advanced placement) classes.  Sigrid told the presenter she did not take 8.  He said “hush, Siggie, take the medal”. I think she did take that many though because her Educators Rising” class counted 12 hours of college credit if she passes the test.  She graduates the 20th and I’ll be in attendance.

I’m still cleaning Larry’s shop and discarding some things.  It’s difficult.

Ingrid has moved to Conway.  It’s about 45 miles from us.  She will drive to Baptist Hospital in Little Rock each day stating in July.  She is in her final year of her Nuclear Med degree. Astrid has finished her degree.  Ing is one year way and Sigrid will start to College in the fall.  Soon, Erin’s bunch will follow.  Clayton may not go to college but I’m praying he will.   

Best Company

Sister Helen’s old car went kaput.  Her son bought her this ride.  He is handy and went through it making sure it was in good shape.  The inside is beautiful.  He installed a big back up camera.  It’s standard shift so she won’t have transmission issues.  She drove down today to visit.  I had the best day.  She brought homemade angel food cake and strawberries.   So good. 

When she was in Arizona, she bought me this sombrero hat. It even covers my neck.  I am ecstatic!   This is the type workers wear in the sun and I am a farmer girl.

New Neighbors

 Yelp, it’s bees.  My friends put them here to see how they do.  I want my own but I must learn about taking care of the first.  This is a good way to see if I can be a bee keeper.  I plan just visiting from afar for a while.
