child wants to achieve. Once they figure
it out, they have that skill for life. Learning
to read well is an important skill for all
children. It is one I pray my grand
girls achieve. My older 'Rid' already reads
very well......hope the others will follow!

It's true, I can still ride a bike all these many years since I first learned - and I can and do read anything and everything I can put my hands on.
I think most children are encouraged to learn to read if they are read to and if they see their parents/grandparents reading a lot. Plus it helps if what they are given to read is interesting to them.
I've been wondering lately about the difference in learning to read as a child versus as an adult. I wonder if the different ages learn differently? I am going to have to investigate the answer to my question.
Best to you today, Sister Three.
I think learning as an adult would be much harder. Sis 3
Remember that movie Johnny Cash made where he was learning to read as an adult?
