Green Forest Grade School 1956

I started school this year. Now, Arkansas
is saying that Green Forest needs to upgrade
some of their structures, but Green Forest
will not pass a milage. The patrons feel
broke....like most of us.

Sister, my mother thinks if you just look at a computer it has your bank account number and will steal your money. Tony won't let me show his grandkids and I certainly don't want my picture on here. I do enjoy seeing other folks tho!

Since my family moved to another town when I finished first grade I have no idea what my first school looked like. In fact, I can't remember first grade at all. But doing the math, I started school a couple of years earlier than you did, Sister.

My first grade was in this hexagon building. It has that thick block glass on front. It was a modern building built in this unusal way. We had a ceptic tank with a contrete cover. We played chase the the square of contrete was our base. My teacher was Bessie Atchley and she was fat and nice. I learned something surely but all I remember is recess...this makes me think we are doing an injustice today by taking all the recesses from our children and sticking them in desks all day and sending them home to locked apt.s and wondering why they are fat and don't like exercise. Play is the playground for life.

Depending on how old you were when you started school, you should be around about my age. At that time we started at the age of seven and I started 1n 1957. Of course, that was on the other side of the Earth and we probably started later than you.

Which makes me much older than you!

Thank you for your greeting!

You mentioned the name Fedje. That is an island not so very far from here, about 50km as the crow flies. This being Norway, you,ll have to pass about 15 tunnels, 10 bridges and take 1 ferry.

My mother came from one of the neighbouring municipalities (Radøy), and my father from one of the others (Lindås).

Keep it up!
