I was born in the hills and the hills are my home. I wonder if one born in the desert feels about the dry sand ... the way I feel about the soft rolling mountains of my birth?
I used to feel that way about south Alabama but after living so many differnt places I feel like the woman without a home. That's a beautiful view of your hill country!

i think they do. i have read someone talking about the dry desert air and the foliage of the desert and i think it is home to thoes people.
Well, I wasn't born in the desert, but I have lived here almost all of my life. No, we don't feel the same way about the sand. But we hate the cold.
