Arkansas is Doing OK

This is State Line Avenue in Texarkana.  The clean Highway is Arkansas side.  The other is Texas.  They need to elect some new politicians.

I think our major highways are clear, but out here in the country, some roads won't be clear until the temperatures rise so the sun can melt the snow off. I have been very depressed during this week of ridiculously cold weather. Cliff's asthma is acting up and he can hardly breath just walking from the house to the garage. I called his pulmonologist yesterday and he called in some meds, including an antibiotic in case it's pneumonia. He has an appointment to see the doctor next week anyway. Here's hoping he gets some relief. So I'm the one doing any necessary snow-shoveling. However, I'm thankful I'm healthy enough to do that! Also, it does me good to get outside, even when it's cold, and especially on the rare sunny days we've had lately.

Yesterday we actually got up to double digits. I had to take my hat off because I was getting too warm walking through five inches of snow, and it was only 13 degrees, I think. This has been one for the books.

I tried shoveling. I wasn’t very successful. I poop out quickly. Hope sun will shine and Cliff will be better.

That's true, Donna. I cleared the snow yesterday off my drive and walk and by afternoon you couldn't tell I'd done a thing. That's why I started feeding the cats just inside the garage door. That seems to work. I will check soon and if they are gone back across the street, I will put the garage door back down.

I hope Cliff is better now. How does he get his meds when you are out in the country and you don't drive?
