Monday, I went to visit my hill cousin. We are very distant cousins. She is only 4’3” tall, but used to be almost 5 foot. I thought about buying her a ham, but ended up giving her cash. She was very appreciative but said a ham would have been even greater. She’s too weak to go in stores now she said. Only place she goes is to church and the doctor. So, today I traveling back up into those hills with a ham and a carton of eggs. She’s too weak to stand and cook. Also, too short. She has to climb on a stool to use the stove. I often think I have some issues— hurting knees, problem with a household item— but really I have no things to deal with that I can’t handle or get help to take care of.
I hurt my knee and am limping around. All I did was step off my porch wrong. I have one of those straps around it. Getting old is hard, but I want to live a long time so I need to pull my boot straps and push on. I thank my Lord for all His blessing to me.

I feel the same way.I am 87 years old and have no health problems. I am blessed! I take s blood pressure pill...the smallest amount they can prescribe and a thyroid pill again, the smallest amount that can be prescribed. My left thumb stays swollen all the time but it seldom hurts.
(a blood pressure pill)
I bet the ham and eggs were well received! Hope your knee gets better. Getting older is a challenge:(
I can still enjoy life, and that's what counts. I'm thankful for that.
