Harvest Moon

I’m easily entertained.  This morning I was up at 4 AM to walk with Lil Red and the moon was full and inspiring.  This year the September’s full moon is called the Harvest Moon because it falls nearest to the fall equinox.  The nickname dates back to the time before electricity when farmers harvested their annual crop and light from the moon helped them work well after sunset. The cooler conditions at night could also be a bit more comfortable than working in the heat of the day, especially during late-summer warm spells.   I surely enjoyed my walk in the Harvest Moon’s glow this morning.
