Lost an Old Friend

Charles Lynn Boyd, lovingly known as C. L., passed away on June 16, 2023, at the age of 83. He was born in Pleasant Grove, Arkansas on December 8, 1939, to Charles and Syble Boyd. C. L. was a dedicated and smart individual who brought joy and laughter to those around him. He was a longtime resident of Dover, Arkansas, where he was an active member of the community and a past member of the Pope County Historical Society and the Dover Volunteer Fire Department. C. L. married the love of his life, Lina, on September 22, 1960. Together, they built a beautiful family that was the center of his world. C. L. worked as a Stock Room Supervisor for the AR State Highway Department before retiring in 1990. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, genealogy, collecting Indian artifacts, and spending time with his family. C. L.'s dedication to his community was recognized when he was named Citizen of the Year in 2005 in Dover.

C. L. is survived by his children Brenda Casey, Dan (Beth) Boyd, and Randy (Barbara) Morris; his grandchildren Kameron Casey, Andy Boyd, Aaron Boyd, and Alan Boyd; his great-grandchildren Braxtyn Casey and Jeffery Boyd; his brothers Rev. Ray (Clara) Boyd, Bill (Janet) Boyd, and Bob (Patricia) Boyd; his sister-in-law Eva White; and his uncle and aunt Jim (Mary) Boyd along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lina Boyd; and his parents, Charles and Syble Boyd.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Humphrey Funeral Service located at 2801 West Main Street, Russellville, Arkansas, 72801. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Humphrey Chapel with burial at Pollard Cemetery by Humphrey Funeral Service. Friends and family are encouraged to visit C.
