fleta mae was so frail when she was a baby we worried about her but she has always enjoyed good health.
I remember Daddy used to laugh....he said when Fleta was born with that red hair Grandpa Powell laughed and said he guessed George Hampton had been over to visit,,,Goes to show what a good wife Mama was everyone knew that was a joke...but you know 59 years later Fleta still doesn't look like the rest of us...She does look a lot like daddy's sisters....odd how that works...Maybe someone else came to visit all of the other 7 times...
you know I was just thinking the same thing - she got the body like her aunts, I was always told I was build like Grandpa Powell's sisters. The only time I remember seeing them was at Grandpa's funeral and I really remember them being very large. I remember as a kid it use to make me so mad -
I think I have the 'build' of Grandma Powell and her daughters. I always thought they all looked a lot like their mother.
But, me and Betty look just alike now and we look like Patsy. But, then, Patsy does not look like Patsy. Patsy looks like Mama.
Helen does not look like anyone except Helen. And, she is the meanest one of us. She would walk a thousand miles to get even.
Was Fleta born after Momma broke
her ankle or before? I have always wondered that.
I look like Patsy! Helen...I don't know who you look like. You are too pretty for the rest of us.
Winnie, I think I am built just like the Old Powell sisters, Myrtle, Clara, and Tea. I wish I had at least got Grandma Powell's pretty long legs!
