Sears House

I took this picture on my way to work.
It is on 8th Street in Russellville. I have
heard this house was ordered from the
Sears Catalog. Has anyone ever heard
of such a thing? I am not at good as Dot
taking pictures while driving down the road.
It is for sale if anyone is looking for a mail order house.
Maybe Sears could send it out again.

I heard about these houses via the net. Looks like they were nice homes. Sears used to be big like Wal Mart is now. I'm waiting for Wal Mart to have their down fall just like Sears did.http://www.oldhouseweb.com/stories/Features/Sears_Kit_Houses/

They even have pictures from the catlogue, but I couldnt find one that looked like this.

I didn't know Sears sold houses via their catalogue sales; had always head about Montgomery Ward doing that.

That's a nice looking house, much nicer that some of the modern ones being built today.

Just imagine what they'd be like if Wal Mart were selling them!

Yup, Sears sold a whole bunch of the plans for these kinds of houses. In fact, I am writing today about it on my blog!
